What oils are best for what skin types-simple guide
Natural oils have been used on the skin for centuries. They are like vitamins for the skin. Our skin is the largest organ of the body and should be treated well. Natural oils have various moisturizing, protective and antibacterial qualities. Produced properly, these oils can be much better than the chemical and additive filled products on the market. They can also work as a carrier for using essential oils. Cold pressing organic is preferred for most oils to be used on your skin as it does not take out the nutrients from the oil. Most products use refined oils which are processed and take out many of the benefits. If the scent of the naturals oils do not appeal to your senses then adding a drop or so of an essential oil can make it pleasing and beneficial. Explore and add the type of essential oil that is best for your skin type or like for smell
These simple substances have been overlooked or misused because of lack of understanding what is best for each skin type. Stop listening to the hype on oils like Coconut Oil and find out what is best for you. Coconut oil is typically processed or fractioned in order to make it less heavy, but takes out some nutrients in the process. Unprocessed Coconut oil can clog pores and is more comedogenic than other oils. If your skin or hair are extremely dry Coconut oil is good to apply over another oil.
Here is a simple list of basic oils and what types of skin benefit from them:
Light oils absorb quicker and leave the skin smooth and moisturized rather than greasy.
Apricot Kernel and Grape seed are best for this.
Medium oils leave the skin feeling more hydrated and take a minute or so to soak into skin. Jojoba, Argan, Cocoa Butter and Sesame Seed Oils
Heavy oils soak in and are also more coating and protective. These oils take a bit longer to soak into the skin. Dry skin will benefit most from these types. But in small amounts they can benefit any skin type. Carrot Seed, Pomegranate, Avocado, Sunflower and Shea Butter.
La Vida Essential Blends give you the best quality, most preserving packaging and highest impact for your skin. Add essential oils for more benefits and great scent. Put on straight after a shower or mix with your favorite moisturizer to boost it. I recommend mixing La Vida Organic Lotion with a couple drops of any La Vida Skin Blend.
